About RKE Support
RKE Support is a research operations improvement partner built on hands-on experience—and on the belief that the people doing the work should help shape how it changes.

Why we exist
We have worked across research development, pre-award, post-award, finance, assurance and leadership. We know what it feels like when deadlines collide, information is fragmented and good people are compensating for weak processes.
RKE Support exists to make that work clearer and more sustainable. We help organisations solve the immediate problem while understanding how it connects to people, funding, governance and the outcomes the work is meant to create.
That whole-system view matters whether the work sits in a university, research institute, funded business, public body or partnership. Different settings have different conditions, but they depend on many of the same relationships: good ideas, responsible funding, capable people, trusted evidence and shared delivery.
How we work
We follow the connections between people, funding, information, decisions and outcomes before recommending change.
We listen to the people doing the job and build from what actually happens—not only what a process map says should happen.
We favour clear responsibilities, proportionate controls and practical improvements that people can sustain after we leave.
Leadership
Ashley brings hands-on experience of the operational, financial and governance work behind research funding—from opportunity and bid support to award delivery, assurance and improvement.
He founded RKE Support to give teams practical capacity and an independent view of the system around them. As an ISO/IEC 42001 qualified Lead Implementer (certificate ENR-01704976), Ashley also helps organisations build responsible AI policies, strategy, governance and working controls.
RKE Support also works with trusted specialists when a project needs additional subject expertise or delivery capacity. The principle remains the same: the right people around the problem, with clear ownership and a shared outcome.
